So, how many times have you heard “She’s not ill, she’s pregnant! It’s the most natural thing!” ?
Yes, I agree, pregnancy is natural, but I do feel that sometimes this comment discounts all the changes that happen in a woman’s body during this period.
In this blog, I thought that I might summarise these changes and explain how these changes would be accommodated to, ensuring a safe and effective form of exercise. I will also explain how Pilates could help to minimise the possible negative knock on effects of these changes.
I would class myself as a leisure cyclist doing family bike rides, including taking our bikes to the Vendee in France this summer - a great place with fantastic bike tracks and the Atlantic breeze to cool you down!
Last Sunday, I ventured on a 40km bike race with Cycletta, fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support. Cycletta arranges women only bike rides around the UK and is supported by Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendelton! It was with much trepidation that I set off into the misty Sunday morning! Would I manage the 40km? Would my 8 year old son be disappointed in his mother having told her the day before that she must not be last?!!
Well a new website and now a first blog! Macclesfield’s Treacle Market has been amazing for our town bringing such variety and interest. I am very excited to be using the business booth on St Michael’s Church Yard this coming Treacle Market on the 30th September! I am desperately hoping the weather forecast that I have just looked at is going to be proven wrong!! As I hope that lots of local people will come and find out more about Macclesfield Physio Pilates, how they could benefit from it and how they can apply it to their everyday lives.
